TNA Bound For Glory Results, New TNA Champion, CM Punk, Matt Hardy, Bragging Rights

Hello again from Ringside. Big Johnny Badd back again with some news and notes from TNA and WWE. First up, TNA's biggest PPV of the year was this past Sunday. Results are in:

The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Generation Me to retain the TNA World Tag Team titles

Tara won the TNA Knockouts title defeating Angelina Love, Velvet Sky and Madison
Rayne
in a four corners match with Mickie James as the special guest referee

Ink Inc. defeated Eric Young and Orlando Jordan

Jay Lethal defeated Doug Williams to retain the TNA X Division title

Rob Van Dam defeated Abyss in a Monster's Ball match

Sting, Kevin Nash and D'Angelo Dinero defeated Samoa Joe and Jeff Jarrett in a 3-on-2 handicap match

Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Rhino, Sabu and Stevie Richards defeated AJ Styles, Kazarian, Matt Morgan, Robert Roode and James Storm in a Lethal Lockdown match

Jeff Hardy defeated Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson in a three-way match to win the vacant TNA World Heavyweight title

The main shocker coming out of this PPV is of course the heel turn of Jeff Hardy and the revelation of Abyss' "THEY." To me, this just seems bizarre. The new heel faction now consists of Abyss, Hardy, Hogan, Bischoff, And Jeff Jarrett.

On this week's Impact, there was about two hours of talking, and only five minutes or so of actual wrestling. I don't know what TNA is doing. They have been successful thus far because they have a nice roster of wrestlers, not for their terrible writing of storylines. If they keep this up, they won't last much longer. And with Hogan and Bischoff now in charge with a top faction on their side, this has officially become WCW 2.0. TNA will definitely be interesting, if not completely bizarre, over the next few weeks.

But enough with the bizarre booking of TNA. On to WWE news.

As revealed this past Monday on Raw, CM Punk is the Superstar traded from Smackdown for Edge. He made his debut, new shave and all, in a match against Evan Bourne for a spot on the Bragging Rights team for Raw. Along with him, R-Truth, John Morrison, Sheamus, Santino, and captain Miz qualified to fight for Raw's honor on October 24th. There is still a seventh mystery spot to be decided. On Smackdown, the team is final. The team will consist of captain Big Show, along with Rey Mysterio, Jack Swagger, Edge, Alberto Del Rio, Kofi Kingston, and Tyler Reks. Who? That's right, jobber Tyler Reks, who is apparently getting a new push. NXT winner Kaval originally qualified after lasting five minutes with Big Show, however he lost a challenge to Reks immediately after. Let's see where this push goes.

Speaking of Evan Bourne, he is the latest to be out of action with an injury. Bourne had surgery on his torn rotator cuff this week, putting him out of action for the next few months. This was explained with CM Punk's post match attack on him on Monday.

Also, Matt Hardy has officially been granted his release. Hardy has been posting odd videos for the past few weeks, telling about how miserable he is in WWE and how much he wants to join his brother in TNA. He was finally granted his release this week, allowing him to begin waiting out his 90 days before he can wrestle elsewhere. Hopefully he'll be much happier and healthier now. Best of luck in his future endeavors.

You've been Ringside.
